I have been a private piano teacher for over 15 years. I have been approved as a private teacher by the Incorporated Society of Musicians.
I started learning the piano at the age of 5. I progressed through the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music (ABRSM) achieving success from Grade 1 to Grade 8. After completing all of the graded exams, I continued with the London College of Music and Media and completed a Performing Diploma in September 1999. After which I completed the Teachers Diploma in 2001. This consisted of three parts. One in Psychology of Piano Teaching. This looks into how to motivate and understand and encourage pupils to achieve their best. The second part was Practical Performance and the third part was the Theory of Music, an integral part of learning to play any musical instrument.
I have also been an accompanist for a choir which regularly held concerts around Bristol for charity.
I have also been a resident pianist at a restaurant near Bath providing entertainment for its diners.
Over the years I have helped many pupils of all ages and abilitites to learn and enjoy the wonderful gift of playing the piano.
